How to use gift cards for payment?

You can use a gift card in the Appointment when paying for products and services.

Quick payment in the Status section of the Appointment

If a gift card is assigned to the client and shows up in the Loyalty section in the client’s card then after you select Client Onsite status Gift Card button will appear in the Appointment. Users need to have the Purchase with gift card and membership without code right to see this button (rights can be configured in the Settings - Users section, read about it in more detail in the User access rights settings and Loyalty and online booking access rights).

Payment in the Checkout section of the Appointment

In the Appointment go to the Checkout section and to the Loyalty field. If you want to fully pay for the visit with the gift card you just need to click on it.

If you want to write off a specific amount for payment then you need to click the Partial payment button next to the name of the specific gift card. 

In the opened window enter the sum or select it from the list and click Apply.

If the gift card isn’t assigned to the client and doesn’t show up in the list you can find it by its code in the Search by code and other payment methods section:

Enter the gift card’s code in the Search gift card section and click the search ______________________________________115000509609__mceclip2.png button. If the gift card with the code entered exists and isn’t expired it will appear in the list of available ones and you’ll be able to use it to pay for the visit.

Specifics of payment using gift card

Client doesn’t have to be the one who purchased the certificate to use it for payment. If the gift card was purchased by a client different from the client in the visit you’ll be able to find it using its code in the Search by code and other payment methods section and use it in this visit.

Before the payment the gift card will appear in the card of the client who purchased it. After the payment the gift card will be transferred to the Loyalty of the client who redeemed it even if this client didn’t buy it. Meaning that the gift card will be deleted from the Loyalty of the client who purchased it.

NB!

  • If during creation of a gift card type the Allow selling gift card without code setting was checked then after sale this gift card will become a personal one. Only this client will be able to use it.

Gift cards with Single write-off type:

  • if the par value of the gift card is less than the total amount of the bill then full par value will be written off the gift card;
  • if the par value of the gift card is larger than the total amount for the bill then the whole sum will be written off the gift card and the remaining sum cannot be spent when paying for the next appointment.

Gift cards with Multiple write-off type:

  • if the par value of the gift card is less than the total amount of the bill then full par value will be written off the gift card;
  • if the par value of the gift card is larger than the total amount for the bill then the whole sum will be written off the gift card and the remaining sum can be spent when paying for the next appointment.

Changed gift card balance can be viewed in the Loyalty section in the client’s card.
